Nissan officially introduced Leaf Nismo, the spicy version of the electric car, which will be in dealerships in Japan starting July 31. To improve its performance, the manufacturer recalibrated the ECU to increase throttle response and shifted tires and suspension, enhancing its dynamics and comfort. In addition, it has gained design changes with new parts for the bodywork and the finish of the cabin, leaving that face of which is a more aggressive car
Although it is so close to starting to be sold, Nissan did not divulge many details about Leaf Nismo, so we do not know how much its performance has improved. The manufacturer should talk more about the car soon, to attract customers in Japan
We know that Leaf Nismo carries what Nissan calls a “double wing,” used in Nismo-powered cars that increase downforce without elevating the car’s aerodynamic drag – Leaf’s body shape is part of the company’s efforts to leave it as efficiently as possible.
In addition to the change in bodywork, Leaf Nismo features special 18-inch wheels made of aluminum with Continental ContiSport 5 tires and will be sold with nine color options, including two-tone Bright Silver / Super Black options and Dark Metal Gray / Super Black, widely used in other Nismo models
Inside, the Leaf receives details in black, including the steering wheel, which finishes in Alcantara and leather, with a red line marking the center of the steering wheel. The scarlet color is also used at the edges of the air intakes, the button that starts the engine and the doors. The dashboard has carbon fiber mimicking finish.
Nissan Leaf Nismo prices have yet to be released. Unfortunately, this version has little chance of reaching our market. If it serves as a consolation, the manufacturer will sell the electric in Brazil, with a promised arrival for 2019. It shold be presented to the public at the São Paulo Motor Show in November.
